About the Wine
Bold aromas of blackberry, cassis, and dark cherry intertwine with violet, graphite, and subtle spice. French oak aging adds hints of cedar, espresso, and toasted vanilla. The palate is rich and structured, with layers of blackcurrant, plum, and dark chocolate. Bright acidity and refined tannins create balance, while volcanic soils lend depth and minerality. The finish is long and elegant, with notes of mocha and savory herbs. Decant for full expression or cellar for added complexity.
Production Notes
Specially selected grapes were harvested from the Lincoln Estates vineyards in Lincoln, Ontario for this popular variety. Gently destemmed and crushed the grapes were fermented at an average temperature of 25 C with a total skin contact of 14 days before pressing . The wine was then transferred to new and older barrels where the wine was allowed to age for 14 months before racking to a stainless steel tank.
BATTLEFIELD, is made from dark, thick-skinned grapes, deep red in color, a harmonious balance of aromas and flavors, along with a pleasing overall sensation on the nose and palate, rich, velvety, sumptuous wine pairs well This full bodied, with a variety of dishes, particularly those featuring red meat, rich sauces, or earthy flavors.
